In the early days we all paddled Emotion Stealth kayaks they had two rod holders behind the seat and one in front. You needed wing mirrors to see if yor had caught anything. The front mount was too low so we added an extension. Now that we have moved to the Tootega 110 and 135 we use a three rod mount with a fish finder in the middle position with the same extension. Now you can see bites or if you have caught the bottom.

  2. P1020983Fishing Chapel island

During the summer all two days of it, julie and I paddled from strangford up the narrows to Chapel Island. I had not fished this side of the lough for a while. I caught a few between the narrows and the island they seemed to be on thier way to killyleagh. i used a trace with pink shrimp and a spinner I only got one on the spinner.as usual.

I forgot to bring the seat for the 135 but it was no problem the Tootega is deep enough to support your back without it.

  3. Fish for supper again tonight 12 July 2012

People have asked me to start a kayak fishing blog. I know its starting into the winter months and we are all hiding indoors

I fished the Strangford narrows from a Tootega Prophecy 135 fishing kayak, with some good results - got three good fish off Angus rock.
